Kelli Blackburn

I am a senior at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte studying Communication Studies with a concentration in Media and Technology. I am a member of the Delta Kappa chapter of Chi Omega, where I serve as Director of Marketing, leading digital content strategy and brand storytelling for the chapter.

My work in sports media spans creative, editorial, and live production roles across collegiate and professional environments. I currently serve as a Creative Media Intern for Charlotte Football, where I produce photo and video content capturing practices, games, recruiting moments, and behind-the-scenes storytelling. I previously worked as a Game Day Operations Intern with the Charlotte Checkers, contributing to in-game entertainment, promotions, and fan engagement during live events in a fast-paced professional sports environment. I also served as Sports Editor for The Niner Times, overseeing coverage of Charlotte Athletics across multiple sports while leading a team of student reporters.

Across every role, I am drawn to storytelling that goes beyond the final score. I focus on capturing the people, energy, and moments that shape how sports are experienced and remembered, and how they connect to broader communities and identities.

My experience spans multimedia storytelling through photography, video production, editorial writing, and social media strategy. Each opportunity has strengthened my ability to create content across platforms and adapt storytelling to different audiences and environments.
